Dr. Michelle Retz, N.M.D.

Dr. Michelle Retz, N.M.D. graduated Summa cum Laude from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. She then completed a residency emphasizing general family practice at Southwest Naturopathic Medical Center. She is a Magna cum Laude graduate from Ohio State University, where she received a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Spanish.

Concerned about the present state of our healthcare system, she dedicates herself to patient-centered care using holistic medicine that treats the cause of illness, restores vitality, and preserves health. Utilizing botanical medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, IV therapy, detoxification, nutritional counseling, perineural therapy and bioidentical hormones, Dr. Retz focuses on treating chronic illnesses such as digestive disturbances, anxiety, depression, autoimmune disease, thyroid and adrenal disorders, women’s concerns, and chronic pain syndromes.

Dr. Retz is a member of the AANP, Doctors for America, Natural Doctors International, National Association of Professional Women, and was the Chief Medical Director of Naturopaths without Borders for six years. She was a professor of Gynecology for six years, and the professor of Gastroenterology for seven years at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (currently Sonoran University).  She continues to teach medical students and residents within the medical setting. With the belief that community is family, Dr. Retz has volunteered at various clinics in Mexico to treat the under-served, and helped develop a program to teach first aid homeopathy to local lay healers and family members.
