Fractional Resurfacing

Fractional Resurfacing does more than soften the appearance of imperfections, whether you treat the whole face or specific areas. It can actually eliminate evidence or sun damage such as wrinkles and discoloration, and it can significantly improve depressions in the skin, such as acne scarring. Our laser is used to drastically minimize lines, wrinkles, scars, dark spots and other irregularities, layer by layer. This process also stimulates the formation over time of new, underlying collagen to provide better elasticity and support for the skin.

What is Fractional Resurfacing?

Fractora skin treatment is a fractional rejuvenation and resurfacing treatment that reduces wrinkles to slow the effects of aging and restore skin to its youthful appearance. Fractora lets you look and feel younger.

What areas can be treated?

Fractional Resurfacing can be used on areas that can benefit from skin renewal. The most commonly treated areas include: lower eyelid, upper eyelid, smile lines, forehead, cheeks, mouth and neck. Face and body areas that exhibit wrinkles, discoloration or acne scarring are suitable for treatment.

Is Laser Resurfacing painful?

Treatments are performed in our office using a local anesthetic. Because pain tolerance is highly individual, the staff will tailor the approach to ensure your comfort - both during and after the procedure.

How many treatments will I need?

Depending on your Fractora treatment regime you can expect to have between 1-6 sessions.

How quickly will I see results?

Visible results can be seen immediately, but typically after two weeks the most noticeable results appear. Improvements continue up to three months after treatment.

What is the benefit of fractionated energy?

Fractionated RF energy found in Fractora is a scientifically proven method that reduces wrinkles. It is minimally invasive, using a matrix of micro-pins to resurface and restore the skin, providing exceptional results with almost no patient downtime.

When can I put a makeup on after treatment?

Since patient downtime is minimal, makeup can be applied 1 to 2 days after the treatment. Patients should expect to see micro lesions a few days after treatment and slight redness for up to 1 week depending on treatment parameters.

What kind of post procedure care is required?

Patients should moisturize the treatment area and avoid direct sun exposure. It is also recommended that patients use a good, broad spectrum sunscreen every day. In addition to reducing their future risk of skin cancer, sunscreens also reduce wrinkles and slow the aging process.

What results can I expect, and how long will the benefits of my treatment last?

Laser resurfacing can restore your skin to a healthy state, similar to that of skin that has not experienced sun damage or scarring. With proper sun protection, results can persist for more than five years. In areas where muscle activity is strong, lines may begin to reappear sooner.

As skin continues to age at a normal rate, you may choose to maintain results with a "touch-up" resurfacing treatment. In any event, with cosmetic laser resurfacing you will have definitively "turned back the clock!"
